Other adoption blogs...

At a time like this, it can be very hard to think about how long the process to adopt can take. In search of others, I have found some blogs where other families are documenting their process. The rules are changing so much, so it's helpful to see the other families' experiences of process and delays. Some encouraging. Some a little scary. There is so much uncertainty in the India side of things. Delays tend to be really long for even the simplest matters. I start remembering the previous experience with Sofi. It was frustrating and sad to see the snail-like progress. This time, I should be more prepared. But it's hard to be prepared for the fact that you know your new daughter is out there, and you just want to be with her immediately. Sofi is excited. And so far, she is looking forward to it. Being an onl...

Another Indian adoption

I will endeavour to write about the specifics of the next process in as much detail as I can, especially since the rules are changing and it is getting ever harder to adopt from India. Several documentaries have been made touching on subjects like this and I will try to put links to them for anyone interested. Most likely coming out this year (2012) will be Petals in the Dust about the missing girls of India: http://www.petalsinthedust.com/index.html

After a very long break, I am back. Sofi has been back in the US for a little over a year. She is doing fabulosuly. She remains a cheerful, charismatic, gregarious little girl. Her personality is blossoming and she is amazing. I am lucky to have been united with her. And now, we are about to start the process for Sofi to have a little sister. I will be starting the tedious but important process to be approved again. This time, in Nevada. We moved up to Lake Tahoe so that Sofi can enjoy an outdoor life in the glory of nature's wonder. She is at the beach every day and learning to swim. She is a little fish and loves it. Very enthusiastic and learning really well.
